LinkedIn

LinkedIn steps are tasks by default; the automated adapter, its opt-in and its caps come later.

Edit on GitHub

In v1 a LinkedIn step is a task the sender performs by hand. Set the sender's profile URL so readiness and conditions know they have LinkedIn, then use task nodes with kind: "linkedin_connect" or kind: "linkedin_message".

curl
curl -X PUT $SEQ/v1/senders/u_42/channels/linkedin -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"address":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxrivera"}'
A connect task, then wait for the acceptance
"li_connect": {
  "type": "task",
  "params": { "kind": "linkedin_connect", "title": "Connect with {{ contact.first_name | \"them\" }} on LinkedIn", "link": "{{ contact.linkedin_url }}", "due": "1bd", "expire": "5bd" },
  "next": { "completed": "wait_accept", "no_answer": "email_2" },
  "branches_by_outcome": { "already_connected": "li_message" }
},
"wait_accept": { "type": "wait_for", "params": { "events": ["connection_accepted"], "timeout": "7d" }, "next": { "connection_accepted": "li_message", "timeout": "email_2" } }

The two kinds have one extra behaviour: completing linkedin_connect with outcome accepted records a connection_accepted signal (which wakes a wait_for connection_accepted), and completing linkedin_message with replied records a reply on the linkedin channel (which counts as a reply for exits and analytics). Any other kind and outcome is yours to define.

Why there is no automation yet

Automated LinkedIn actions run against LinkedIn's terms and put the sender's account at risk of restriction. The architecture leaves room for an adapter behind a vendor's hosted auth (registered as a channel, off by default behind the channel:linkedin_auto flag, per-sender written opt-in, conservative daily and weekly caps, auto-pause on any restriction signal). None of it ships today; the linkedin fact source (linkedin.connection_state) and the linkedin_connections table exist for it. Tasks have no automation risk.
